Thylacine and Iredale Pedersen Hook Architects with Mental Media, Eye Candy and Illuminated Design were engaged to design 5 of the galleries within the New WA Museum. The Museum assembled multi-discipline curatorial teams for each gallery with speciality skills such as Conservation, Sociology, History, Anthropology, Archaeology, Palaeontology, Geology, Astronomy etc. to work with the Design Team. Each Gallery explores the State's rich cultural and natural heritage through three major themes: "Being Western Australian: Celebrating the diversity of our people. Discovering Western Australia: Providing a gateway to our incredible State. Exploring the World: Defining Western Australia's place in the world." Visitors are taken on a journey through WA's recent and distant past, back to the origins of the planet and solar system. An indigenous perspective frames and informs this journey, and reveals our shared stories of humanity and the cosmos.
