Swancare Leisure Centre

Grounded in the principles of Salutogentic design our proposal seeks to create a physical environment that supports a broad interpretation of the meaning of retirement and responds to a diverse range of people, cultures, ages, health and fitness levels. Our proposal acknowledges the importance of the individual in the community and a tailored approach to enable life to be content, safe and delightful. It seeks to provide spaces of intimacy for the individual and spaces to celebrate with others as part of the community of SwanCare and the openness to allow family and friends to visit. As a strategy it also identifies the restorative role of solitude and the social benefits of being with others.
