sex, games and electronic matter

Our first city project was in the basement of our former office building. It was our lowest budget project and first to be demolished by being filled with concrete for the Joondalup to Mandurah underground railway.

The brief requested an internet games cafe for the budget of $5000.

We were fascinated with the marks of time and the layers of previous existence that were visually evident, our design emphasises these as a curated sequence of eclectic pieces.

Former light wells were reinstated with yellow light, red columns were reinstated, mould was removed and walls waterproofed with bands of a grey tanking paint that wraps up walls and on to the ceiling.

Power was supplied from above in a lucid conduit that collects the eclectic into a sequenced space.
