Over a period of 5 years iph architects designed numerous public buildings for perth zoo. All designs transformed visitor movement in to intimate animal experiences, exploring new ways of engaging with the animals. Materials were selected based on their tactile properties, colours and patterns referencing animals and formal language a combination of the above. We upgraded existing buildings and exhibits maximising value for money and experience. Projects included upgrading the front entry and information centre, parenting centre, Australian Bushwalk experience, function centre, Koala photo opportunity structure, master planning, primate enclosure and preliminary elephant enclosure works.
