This is the first in a series of three alternative pedestrian bridges linking Perth Central Station train platforms.
The first proposal explored an extruded 10mm thick self supporting steel tube, hovering dynamically below the existing central station roof truss structure and connecting train platforms and primary external pedestrian movement back to the Perth Cultural Centre. The steel tube is perforated to create visual contact to the platforms and station and folded to form handrails and conceal lighting. The dynamic experience is intensified and exaggerated by a sound and lighting installation reacting to the train arrival and departure.
