iredale pedersen hook

north perth residence

Designed to exploit and maximise the small inner city site, this double fronted residence creates a sequence of courtyards to merge the interior with the exterior. The sequence of courtyards allows cross ventilation and natural light to filter in to all spaces while creating a sense of openness and engagement with the exterior. A lap pool follows the north boundary providing an immediate cooling effect for cross ventilating winds and a harmonious, calming outlook. The street elevation conceals this interior delight and sense of discovery, the park elevation reveals a little of this quality and varies the relationship with sliding perforated aluminium screens. The kitchen forms the centre of the house and the primary point of gravitation for our client and respected local chef.
