Chipping Road explores a hinged form of fluid space that responds to two distinct site qualities of the ocean and the park.
Ground level spaces spill out of to a terrace and pool that engages with the adjacent public park as an extension of the landscape. Upper level spaces bend and undulate in relationship to the adjacent ocean, a dynamic space in constant flux, while sheltering from the traffic noise and west sun.
Time has two qualities, the slowness and brilliance of seasonal time for the garden and the ocean with unexpected time.
